Interoperable Master Format (IMF)

IMF kann die Masterdateien aller Fassungen eines Filmes in einem einzigen, riesigen Container speichern.

IMF wurde von den Major Studios in Hollywood zusammen mit der SMPTE erarbeitet und verabschiedet. Es erhebt den Anspruch sowohl für den Vertrieb als auch für die Archivierung tauglich zu sein. Es ist zur Zeit noch unklar, ob dieser Vorschlag nicht zu komplex und damit für kleine und mittelgrosse Archive überfrachtet ist.

FFmpeg unterstützt IMF.
